Job summary

Private Members' Golf Club in Chippenham seeks a commercially minded Director of Operations to oversee non-golf functions, elevate hospitality, and partner with the Director of Golf to safeguard the club's heritage and long-term success.

You will drive a 25% F&B growth, manage £1.5m turnover, and lead HR and governance across the estate, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on presence on the floor.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a General Manager or Operations Director within a luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving F&B revenue.
• Experience in organisational restructuring and team development.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships (Boards and Committees).
• Non-golf background welcomed; business and hospitality expertise are the primary focus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee non-golf business and report directly to the Board of Directors.
• Drive 25% annual growth in F&B and maximise event spaces for members and conferencing.
• Collaborate with Finance to manage the turnover and financial performance.
• Lead, mentor, and restructure hospitality and admin teams; ensure HR compliance.
• Ensure Health & Safety, insurance, and legal governance in collaboration with auditors and advisers.
