Telent's Network Services division is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our successful Engineering team based in Southampton. This is a great opportunity to join a team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists who will support your growth and development as a Cloud Engineer, exposing you to challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will build and enhance relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between the engineering team and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk to ensure high customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do:

  • Train internal engineering staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Assist with Professional Services and Sales opportunities within Network Services.
  • Maintain awareness of customer incidents and report as necessary.
  • Highlight trends, security threats, or technical bulletins affecting customers.
  • Manage documentation and technical information related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services.
  • Follow internal and external processes regarding task allocation, completion, and reporting.
  • Assist with Proof of Concept scenarios, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Create TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW documentation.
  • Peer review engineering documentation.
  • Assist in pre-staging equipment for installations.
  • Attend customer meetings such as support reviews and incident reviews.
  • Ensure accurate and timely timesheet submissions.
  • Link certifications and training to business objectives.
  • Complete overtime and expenses accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to GDPR and information security policies.

Who you are:

The ideal Cloud Engineer has an interest in Cloud technologies, including Azure, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange, with support experience in a medium to large IT environment, and on-premise Cloud Services experience.

  • VCP 6.x-DCV (Desirable)
  • MCSA: Windows Server 2016 or above
  • Networking knowledge
  • SQL Server 2016+ (clustering, availability groups)
  • Azure MFA and Identity Services
  • Microsoft System Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2016+
  • VMware vCloud Director knowledge
