Job summary

Smart Sourcer Limited is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Solution Architect for a 6-month hybrid contract with 2 days/week in Reading. You will lead enterprise-scale infrastructure design for secure, resilient platforms, overseeing the Oracle Retail SaaS migration and cross-cloud connectivity across OCI and Azure.

The role requires 5+ years in infra design and 8+ years in technology, with strong governance and stakeholder communication skills. IR35 contract with day rates in the £575–£600 range.

Qualifications

• We require 5+ years designing enterprise-scale infrastructure and 8+ years in technology.
• Experience with at least one Oracle Retail migration from on-prem to SaaS.
• Strong architecture experience across hybrid environments, cloud networking, security.
• Deep knowledge of OCI and Azure platform patterns, connectivity, resilience.
• Hands-on hybrid networking experience including Verizon SDI and SWAN.
• Expertise in identity and access management (Azure AD/Entra ID, SSO, CA).
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience delivering architecture governance and technical assurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure architecture for cloud and hybrid programmes with security and resilience at the core.
• Act as primary architecture contact for Oracle Retail SaaS migration, covering networking and security.
• Design and assure hybrid connectivity patterns across Verizon SDI, SWAN, OCI, Azure, and SaaS.
• Produce architecture artefacts: target architectures, blueprints, low-level designs, handover docs.
• Influence stakeholders and translate complex concepts into actionable decisions.
• Governing technical delivery to ensure alignment with standards and non-functional requirements.

Salary: £143,750 - 150,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with 5+ years designing and delivering enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions, and 8+ years in technology overall.
• We require experience with at least one Oracle Retail migration from on-premises to SaaS.
• We need strong architecture experience across hybrid environments, cloud networking, routing, firewalls, DNS, identity, and security.
• We need deep knowledge of OCI and Azure platform patterns, connectivity, segmentation, resilience, and shared services.
• We need hands-on experience with hybrid networking, including Verizon SDI and SWAN, routing domains, QoS, and failover testing.
• We need expertise in identity and access management, including Azure AD/Entra ID, federation/SSO, conditional access, and privileged access.
• We value the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• We require experience delivering architecture governance and technical assurance for large-scale programmes.

This is an outstanding contract opportunity to join us on a 6-month contract, subject to extension, with hybrid working and 2 days per week in Reading. The role is inside IR35 with a day rate of £575 to £600.
