Telent's Network Services division is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our successful Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers the opportunity to work with a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and development in challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and ensuring high customer satisfaction by bridging the engineering team with Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk within Telent.

Cloud Engineer - Responsibilities:

  • Train internal engineering staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Assist with Professional Services and Sales opportunities within Network Services.
  • Monitor customer incidents and report on nominated accounts.
  • Highlight trends, security threats, or technical bulletins impacting customers.
  • Manage documentation and technical information related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services.
  • Follow internal and external processes for tasks, reporting, and changes, updating all relevant parties and documentation.
  • Assist with Proof of Concept (PoC), Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Create and review technical documentation such as TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW.
  • Lead pre-staging of equipment for customer sites.
  • Attend customer meetings and support reviews and incident meetings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of timesheets, expenses, and overtime.
  • Adhere to GDPR and security policies regarding data and information handling.

Cloud Engineer - Requirements:

  • Interest in Cloud technologies, with some Azure cloud knowledge, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange experience; development support provided.
  • Support experience in medium to large IT Managed Service environments.
  • On-premise Cloud Services experience.
  • Certifications such as MCSA, VCP 6.x-DCV (desirable), LPIC-2 (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Networking, SQL Server, Azure MFA, VMware vCloud Director.
  • Strong work ethic, ownership, and collaborative skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
