Job Description:

Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Location: Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

Everyday activities include supporting critical infrastructure through maintenance and commissioning activities on highways and telecommunications networks. The role involves working on major motorway contracts, including the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

Responsibilities include attending to cable repairs, ensuring proper commissioning of equipment, troubleshooting issues in transmission buildings and roadside cabinets, and conducting general maintenance and testing of fibre and copper cables. Accurate documentation of all tasks is required.

Candidate Profile:

Previous experience in a similar role, with skills in fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments, is essential. Knowledge of motorway communications systems, telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing, and testing is required. A full UK driving license and availability for overtime or callouts are also necessary.
