Telent's Network Services division is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our successful Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and development as a Cloud Engineer through challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will develop and maintain strong engineering and technical relationships with both internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between the engineering team and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Cloud Engineer - Responsibilities:

  • Train internal engineering staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Assist with Professional Services and Sales opportunities within Network Services.
  • Monitor customer incidents and report on nominated accounts as needed.
  • Highlight trends, security threats, or technical bulletins affecting customers.
  • Manage documentation and technical information related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services (TCS).
  • Follow internal and external processes regarding task allocation, completion, reporting, and change management, updating all relevant documentation.
  • Assist with Proof of Concept (PoC) scenarios, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Create TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW documentation.
  • Peer review engineering technical documentation.
  • Pre-stage equipment for customer site installations as part of projects.
  • Participate in customer meetings such as support reviews and incident reviews.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of timesheets and expenses.
  • Link certifications and training to business objectives.
  • Adhere to GDPR and security policies regarding data and information handling.

Who you are:

The ideal Cloud Engineer will have an interest in Cloud technologies, including some Azure cloud knowledge, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange. We will support your development in these areas. A strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and experience in medium to large support environments (IT Managed Service) are essential. On-premise Cloud Services experience is also required.

  • VCP 6.x-DCV (Desirable)
  • MCSA: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or above
  • Networking Concepts knowledge
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or above, especially clustering and availability groups
  • Azure MFA and Identity Services
  • Microsoft System Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 or above
  • VMware vCloud Director knowledge
