Job summary

The International Baccalaureate in Cardiff, UK is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Manager to lead global cloud and data centre services. You will manage a dedicated team, deliver resilient infrastructure, and ensure SLAs are met while aligning standards with business goals.

The role combines strategic planning with hands-on oversight of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), networks, and data centre operations. 2 days in office, hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Degree level education or equivalent with relevant IT certifications (Azure, AWS, ITIL).
• Proven experience in infrastructure or cloud operations roles.
• Strong knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
• Experience with enterprise networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls).
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware.
• Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Line management or leadership experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, delivery, and management of global IT infrastructure services across cloud and data centre environments.
• Manage and develop a team of infrastructure and cloud engineers.
• Ensure delivery of services in line with agreed SLAs.
• Define and maintain infrastructure standards covering availability, resilience, performance, and security.
• Oversee vendor management and supplier performance.
• Lead disaster recovery planning and execution aligned to business continuity strategies.
• Coordinate implementation of new systems into the global infrastructure environment.
• Develop infrastructure and data centre strategy aligned to organisational goals.
