Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker - Higher level to join our welcoming multi-disciplinary team within the Eye Outpatients Department at The Friarage Hospital.

Please note: If you do not possess the qualifications or experience marked as essential for a Band 3 role, you will be appointed at a Band 2.

Band 2 requirements: Willingness to undertake relevant training and qualifications for development into a Band 3 role.

Band 3 requirements: Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or GCSE A-C/4-9 equivalent.

Qualifications: Care certificate, Level 3 vocational qualification, or completion of competency workbooks equivalent to Level 3, or equivalent knowledge and experience in clinical care duties including:

• Theoretical knowledge
• Experience in care procedures
• Clinical observations
• Knowledge of relevant legislation

There is a structured pathway for development from Band 2 to Band 3, including qualification completion.

Main duties include providing safe, effective, high-quality care to adult patients at Friarage Hospital Eye OPD, with occasional work at James Cook University Hospital.

This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to ophthalmology care development at Friarage Hospital.

The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton is a key community facility with 189 inpatient beds, part of our organization’s vital network.
