We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker to join our multi-disciplinary team within the Eye Day Unit at The James Cook University Hospital. This role offers opportunities for skill development and relevant course completion to support departmental operations.

Please note: This vacancy will close upon receipt of sufficient applications. Candidates without the essential qualifications or experience for a Band 3 role will be appointed at Band 2, with opportunities to progress upon qualification completion.

• Band 2 requirements: Willingness to undertake relevant training and qualifications for progression to Band 3.
• Band 3 requirements: Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or GCSE (A-C/4-9).
• Care certificate.
• Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent competency workbook in clinical care duties.
• Experience or knowledge equivalent to Level 3 in clinical care, including care procedures, clinical observations, and relevant legislation.

There is a clear framework for progression from Band 2 to Band 3, including qualification completion.

Role in the Eye Day Unit

We are looking for a Clinical Support Worker with suitable experience or willingness to learn, to work within our busy Eye Day Unit, which has been awarded Diamond accreditation by STAQ. The role involves assisting with patient care and departmental duties to ensure safe, compassionate care.

• Provide high standards of care within your scope of practice as delegated.
• Attend mandatory updates and perform delegated duties in accordance with Trust policies.
• Recognize and act to minimize potential risks.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and report concerns.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
• Work professionally and self-motivated.
• Understand confidentiality principles.
