Job summary

NHS Scotland is recruiting for Modern Apprenticeship – Clinical Support Worker positions across Edinburgh and Lothians. These entry-level Band 2 roles support wards and clinical areas, providing essential patient care under supervision.

You will learn through a SVQ Level 2 Healthcare and develop core skills in infection control, teamwork and patient safety as part of a comprehensive apprenticeship program.

Qualifications

• Between 16–24 years of age (or to age 29 with disability or care experience).
• National 4 or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
• Willingness to undertake SVQ Level 2 Healthcare (Clinical).

Responsibilities

• Carrying out personal care for patients under supervision by registered nurses.
• Maintaining activities of daily living for patient care.
• Ensure infection control measures are met in clinical areas.
• Maintain stock levels of supplies.
• Communicate with patients, relatives and team members.
