Job summary

NHS Forth Valley is seeking a Clinical Support Worker to deliver high-standard support to the nursing team within HMP Glenochil, while working autonomously within competencies to meet the complex needs of prisoners.

Experience in healthcare with SVQ3 and competency in Venepuncture is required; you must be PVG-scheme eligible. All interviews will be in person, and the role supports rehabilitation and prisoner health outcomes.

Job description

This is a diverse role which involves the day to day delivery of a high standard of support to the nursing team whilst also working autonomously within competencies, to a population who have a complex range of mental health, physical, psychological, substance misuse and social problems whilst maintaining a high level of awareness of and compliance with security procedures within the prison setting at HMP Glenochil.

The Clinical Support Worker is an integral role in the extensive multidisciplinary team, whose overall aim is to improve the physical, mental health and wellbeing of prisoners, to support rehabilitation and to contribute to the offender outcome strategy by supporting clinicians in their provision of high quality, effective and efficient care to individual patients at whatever their point of need is in their healthcare journey.

The ability to demonstrate high quality, person–centred care and good team working is essential. Keenness towards developing practice with appropriate and satisfactory clinical and interpersonal skills is necessary.
