Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking Senior Healthcare Support Workers to support clinical teams across community, hospital and theatre settings. You will be trained through our induction programme and contribute to a compassionate, inclusive workplace.

The role involves evenings/weekend flexibility and working across Barnstaple and surrounding areas. Applicants should be able to manage a demanding workload and participate in ongoing training and CPD opportunities.

More detail about the role Our Senior Healthcare Support Workers (SHCSWs) form an essential and well-respected part of our healthcare teams across a number of dynamic settings; out in the community, in our acute hospitals or within our theatres teams to name just a few. You will be a valued member of the team through our comprehensive training and induction programme and our commitment to learning and development will satisfy even the most ambitious person. The team Working under the supervision of qualified nursing and medical staff, the post-holder will assist in the care of patients within the department and carry out general duties to enable the effective running of clinics. This will initially include a range of clinical and non-clinical tasks, such as: chaperoning patients during clinical examinations and procedures, undertaking venepuncture, stocking clinic rooms, ordering clinical supplies, filing results and entering data. Working Pattern: The clinics are based in Barnstaple Heath Centre and surrounding locality areas including Bideford, Holsworthy and Ilfracombe. Applicants for this post need to be able to manage a demanding workload, and have the flexibility to work within the needs of the service, to include some evenings and potential weekend work.
