About The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. This role is ideal for a GPhC-registered pharmacist, including newly qualified and those with community pharmacy experience, who is eager to learn and grow in a clinical TPN or Oncology setting. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment with a very friendly and supportive team.

This is a fixed term contract role to cover maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities:

Prescription screening:

  1. Accurately screen and clinically check prescriptions.
  2. Engage with various processes to deliver safe and efficient services to patients.
  3. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with new therapies, medications and treatment guidelines.

Adherence to Regulations:

  1. Maintain a thorough understanding of GPhC regulations.
  2. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  3. Engage in SaferCare.

Documentation and Efficiency:

  1. Complete all necessary documentation accurately and efficiently.
  2. Work to tight deadlines and manage repetitive tasks with majority of work on screens.

Training and Development:

  1. Complete training related to prescription screening.
  2. Temperature excursions.
  3. Home Parenteral Nutrition (HPN).
  4. Oncology.

Team Collaboration:

  1. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including pharmacy technicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  2. Participate in a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

On-Call and Shift Work:

  1. Participate in an on-call rota, covering 1 in 7 Saturdays, with paid overtime for any additional shifts.

About You

Qualifications:

  1. Registered and qualified Pharmacist as recognized by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  2. Ideally, some clinical or homecare experience, but willingness to learn is key.
  3. Experience in oncology or TPN would be desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  2. Basic math and computer skills.
  3. Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  4. Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments.

  3. Ability to be flexible with working hours.
