An exciting opportunity has arisen to undertake a lead role of Rheumatology Specialist Nurse in an outpatient service. The post requires a motivated individual to work 37.5 hours a week within the rheumatology team employed by NNUH
To provide clinical leadership and expertise in rheumatology speciality by providing information, support, advice and specialist knowledge to patients, their families and carers, and to act as a resource to the multi-professional team. To participate in the co-ordination of patient care to ensure continuity throughout the patient’s care pathway. To be pivotal in review and development of the rheumatology service, and to reflect the needs of the patient group
To lead on the delivery of outpatient Rheumatology Specialist Nursing care within the hospital, providing clinical leadership and support, development of nurse led protocols / guidelines and nurse led initiatives
To develop and lead in the collection of relevant audit data to facilitate quality improvement, service development and national requirement
Provide essential education for patients with Rheumatology Disease
Participate in and work with local teams and ICB to develop the rheumatology service to deliver a high standard of evidence-based care
