We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Rostering Service Manager to lead and transform medical rostering across the NOTSSCaN Division at Oxford University Hospitals. This is a critical role that will provide strategic oversight, drive standardisation, and ensure safe, efficient workforce deployment across multiple high-acuity services.
You will be responsible for managing and developing medical rostering systems (including Medirota), improving rota compliance, supporting workforce planning, and contributing to key Trust-wide initiatives aligned with staffing and productivity goals. The successful candidate will have proven experience in medical rostering or workforce coordination, strong system knowledge, and the ability to influence across clinical and corporate teams.

The post holder will lead and manage the centralised medical rostering service for NOTSSCaN, ensuring a high-quality, efficient, and value-driven approach to medical rostering. They will act as the key liaison between the divisional and corporate medical staffing teams, ensuring delivery of all staffing KPIs and ongoing service improvement. Key responsibilities include leading a fully functional medical rostering team, ensuring accurate use of MediRota, delivering staff training, developing SOPs, supporting rostering (including out-of-hours), and working closely with clinical leaders to ensure rota compliance, safety, and cost efficiency.
NOTSSCaN is one of the clinical divisions within Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, operating across four hospital sites.
The division encompasses a wide range of services including Neurosciences, Orthopaedics, Trauma, Specialist Surgery, Spinal Services, The Children's Hospital, and Neonates.
