A leading healthcare provider in Scarborough is seeking a Clinical Director to provide strategic and operational leadership in managing services. The role entails overseeing the Directorate, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring effective communication within the team. Candidates must be registered on the Specialist register, committed to managing budgets, and eager to foster teaching and research within the organization. The position offers a three-year term, subject to Chief Executive approval, and emphasizes leadership development and adherence to Trust policies.
The role of the Clinical Director is to assist the Care Group Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for all elements of the portfolio of services within the care group ensuring the delivery of effective, efficient and high-quality services.
Appointments will normally be made for a period of no less than three years and will be subject to the agreement of the Chief Executive.
Clinical Directors will be responsible to the Care Group Director, and ultimately the Trust Board.
A yearly appraisal of the Clinical Directors managerial work will be conducted by the Care Group Director.
Appointed Clinical Directors will be expected to undergo, or have completed, the Trusts clinical leadership development programme.
The work of the Clinical Director will be identified within the individual’s job plan, where responsibility payments and any compensatory reduction in other work will also be made clear. The altered job plan will be agreed with the Medical Director Team.
Candidates must be aware of the organisation's expectation for them to be prepared to work across any of the Hospital sites where it is a requirement of their service or where departments are integrated across the different hospital sites. Planned activity will be agreed within an individual’s job plan.
