Job summary

Bassetlaw District Council is seeking an enthusiastic Climate Change Officer to help deliver our environmental ambitions across the district. The role focuses on decarbonisation projects, improving home energy efficiency and helping residents reduce fuel poverty.

You will lead the day-to-day delivery of domestic retrofit schemes, develop climate change strategies and work with partners to turn plans into practical, local actions.

Qualifications

• A degree or A-levels / equivalent qualifications with relevant experience.
• Good working knowledge of climate change, sustainability, carbon reduction and building retrofit.
• Experience using data and analytical skills to provide professional insight and support decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of the domestic retrofit scheme.
• Develop climate change strategies, action plans and environmental initiatives.
• Collaborate with residents, contractors, funding bodies and external partners to deliver practical outcomes.
