Job summary

High Speed Two Ltd is seeking a Construction Manager to support assurance across a major EKFB Main Works Civils contract near Aylesbury. The role is site-based with a typical mix of on-site and one day from home, delivering safe, compliant works to approved designs and methods.

You will review RAMS, ITPs and other docs, apply constructability thinking, inspect works and provide guidance to project managers, with a clear path to senior construction management and a salary ladder including

Qualifications

• Significant practical experience in heavy civil engineering construction.
• Experience on major infrastructure or complex construction projects.
• Minimum CSCS and SMSTS qualifications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, RAMS and construction documentation.
• Strong communication skills with contractors and multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-side construction assurance across site activities.
• Review Work Package Plans, RAMS and ITPs and other construction documentation.
• Apply a risk-based approach to constructability assurance on heavy lifting and earthworks.
• Undertake site inspections and safety tours with follow-up actions.
• Check works comply with approved methods and quality standards.
• Provide practical construction advice to HS2 Project Managers.
• Support CDM compliance and safety assurance.
• Manage interfaces between contractors and project stakeholders.
• Identify construction risks and ensure they are managed before impacting safety or schedule.
