Job summary

TPF Recruitment Ltd is helping an established Sussex practice recruit a Client Relationship Manager for its Business Services team in Chichester. You will manage a diverse client portfolio, oversee accounts, tax and advisory work, and be the main contact for clients to ensure timely, accurate delivery.

You will mentor junior staff, identify value-add opportunities, and collaborate with colleagues to drive process improvements while maintaining strong client service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, taxation and compliance.
• ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent experience gained within practice.
• Excellent communication, organisational and client management skills.
• Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
• Commercial awareness including billing, budgets and profitability.
• Proactive approach to delivering excellent client service.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of clients, building strong and long lasting relationships.
• Act as the main point of contact for client queries and provide proactive support and guidance.
• Oversee the preparation of accounts, tax returns, management accounts and other compliance services.
• Plan and monitor assignments to ensure deadlines, budgets and quality standards are met.
• Review work completed by junior team members, providing guidance and support where required.
• Delegate work effectively and contribute to the development of trainees and junior colleagues.
• Monitor work in progress, billing, recoverability and portfolio profitability.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional services and support clients with their wider business needs.
• Liaise with Managers and Directors on technical matters and advisory projects.
• Maintain up to date technical knowledge and contribute to improvements in processes and efficiency.
