TPF Recruitment Ltd is supporting a well-established accountancy practice in Uckfield to recruit a Client Manager for their Bookkeeping and Outsourced Finance team. The role is client‑facing and will involve managing relationships, overseeing service delivery, and leading a team of bookkeeping professionals across multiple locations.

You will work closely with the Outsourcing Partner and Outsourcing Manager to develop staff, deliver high‑quality service, and support new business opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong bookkeeping and VAT knowledge.
• Experience managing or mentoring a team.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Xero, Sage, Dext, QuickBooks or ApprovalMax.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients and build strong long‑term relationships.

• Review bookkeeping, management accounts, CIS and VAT returns.

TPF Recruitment is supporting a well-established accountancy practice with the recruitment of a Client Manager to join their Bookkeeping and Outsourced Finance team in Uckfield.

This is a varied, client-facing role with responsibility for managing client relationships, overseeing service delivery and leading a team of bookkeeping professionals across multiple locations.

The Role:

Working closely with the Outsourcing Partner and Outsourcing Manager, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients while helping to lead and develop the wider bookkeeping team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing strong, long-term relationships with a portfolio of clients
• Leading and supporting a team of bookkeeping professionals
• Reviewing bookkeeping, management accounts, CIS and VAT returns
• Managing workflow and ensuring deadlines and quality standards are maintained
• Overseeing VAT registrations, deregistration's and enquiries
• Supporting new business opportunities, proposals and client onboarding
• Reviewing timesheets, billing and recoveries
• Helping improve processes and ensuring clients receive an efficient, high-quality service
• Embracing new technology and developing effective accounting solutions for clients
• Training and mentoring team members across bookkeeping systems and processes

The role offers a good balance of client management, technical bookkeeping, team leadership and business development.

Requirements

You will ideally be AAT, ACCA or ACA qualified, or qualified by experience, with:

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice
• Strong bookkeeping and VAT knowledge
• Experience managing or mentoring a team
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills
• Strong IT skills and experience with platforms such as Xero, Sage, Dext, QuickBooks or ApprovalMax
• A highly organised and proactive approach
• The confidence to work independently while contributing to a wider team
