Job summary

TPF Recruitment are representing a well-established accounting practice in High Wycombe seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage bookkeeping and VAT for a varied client portfolio. The role involves preparing financial records, coordinating with clients and ensuring timely delivery of information in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates will have UK practice experience, strong VAT knowledge, and proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks and Sage. AAT is advantageous for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Bookkeeper in a UK accountancy practice.
• Good knowledge of bookkeeping principles and VAT.
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• AAT qualification (or studying towards AAT) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining bookkeeping records for a diverse portfolio of clients
• Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations and journals
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Assisting with management accounts where appropriate
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries
• Supporting clients with cloud accounting software and providing guidance where needed
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring deadlines are met
• Working closely with accountants and managers to provide an efficient service

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing bookkeeping and VAT responsibilities for a varied portfolio of clients, building strong relationships and ensuring accurate and timely financial information.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining bookkeeping records for a diverse portfolio of clients
