Job summary

TPF Recruitment Ltd is supporting a well-established accountancy practice in Uckfield to recruit a Client Manager for their Bookkeeping and Outsourced Finance team. The role is client‑facing and will involve managing relationships, overseeing service delivery, and leading a team of bookkeeping professionals across multiple locations.

You will work closely with the Outsourcing Partner and Outsourcing Manager to develop staff, deliver high‑quality service, and support new business opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong bookkeeping and VAT knowledge.
• Experience managing or mentoring a team.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Xero, Sage, Dext, QuickBooks or ApprovalMax.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients and build strong long‑term relationships.
• Lead and support a team of bookkeeping professionals.
• Review bookkeeping, management accounts, CIS and VAT returns.
• Manage workflow, deadlines and quality standards.
• Oversee VAT registrations, deregistrations and enquiries.
• Support new business opportunities, proposals and client onboarding.
• Review timesheets, billing and recoveries.
• Improve processes to deliver efficient, high‑quality service.
• Train and mentor team members across systems and processes.
