Job summary

Saffery LLP is seeking an Accounts Manager to join our growing Accounts team. This client-facing, fast-paced role includes advisory work and handles a diverse client base, from sole traders to trusts.

It would suit an ACCA/ACA qualified accountant looking to consolidate knowledge of accounts, compliance and trusts, and develop advisory and supervisory skills. You will supervise year-end statements, manage ad-hoc projects, review VAT returns, and coach junior staff while building strong client

Qualifications

• ACA/ACA qualified and demonstrable experience of working in practice.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Good knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Understanding of other accounting systems is helpful.
• Self-motivated and proactive with ability to organise workload.
• Confident communication with managers, partners and clients.
• Natural team player with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the preparation of year-end financial statements.
• Take ownership of ad-hoc advisory projects.
• Work planning and annual timetabling, ensuring junior team meet deadlines.
• Review VAT returns and supervise the preparation of management accounts.
• Engage in financial management activities as required.
• Coordinate cross-departmental communication.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Coach and develop junior team members, including line management responsibilities.
• Experience of preparing year end accounts using CCH or equivalent.
