JDR Admin in Birmingham is expanding and seeks a capable accountant to own the day-to-day client relationship and manage work from bookkeeping through draft accounts, tax and compliance, with technical review before finalisation.

Qualifications

JDR Admin is a fast-growing, cloud-based accountancy practice supporting ambitious

businesses across a wide range of industries - from TV producers and jewellery brands to

leading consultants in the AI space. We pride ourselves on providing a proactive, personal

The role

We’re looking for a capable accountant to own the day-to-day client relationship and preparation

of work across a portfolio of clients, from bookkeeping through to draft accounts, tax and

compliance, with technical review and sign-off before anything is finalised.

This is a genuine hands-on practice role, not a supervisory one - ideal for someone who wants

to build their technical experience across a real variety of clients, with support and review rather

than being left to sink or swim.

What you'll do

About you
  • AAT qualified and/or part-qualified (ACCA / ACA) - or qualified by experience
  • Comfortable handling a portfolio of small-company clients independently (accounts, VAT,
  • Confident and personable with clients - happy being their day-to-day point of contact
  • Organised and reliable, able to manage your own deadlines across multiple clients
  • Strong on cloud accounting software (Xero especially; other platforms are a plus)
  • Based in or around Birmingham
Nice to have
  • Experience across a broad range of small-business and limited-company clients
  • An interest in developing junior staff and progressing further as the practice grows
What we offer
  • Salary up to £45,000
  • Hybrid working with 2 days a week in office, and plans to expand to 3
