Job summary

Sodexo in Winchester is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to lead our cleaning team on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday. You’ll oversee cleaning activities and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for clients and staff.

You will manage rotas, budgets and staffing while upholding health and safety standards and delivering training to your team. Reading ARC visits are part of the role to develop your own skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory role in the service industry.
• Good understanding of health and safety standards and COSHH controls.
• Strong leadership, communication and team-management skills.
• Cleaning qualifications such as IOSH is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and oversee all cleaning and housekeeping activities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and service are maintained in line with contractual requirements.
• Manage staffing, rotas, labour costs, stock ordering and budgets to support operational efficiency and site performance.
• Monitor health and safety standards, ensure equipment is maintained, and report faults or concerns to management.
• Lead, support and develop the cleaning team through regular briefings, meetings, training and performance reviews.
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients, customers and colleagues, working with other department managers to ensure smooth operations.
• Visit Reading ARC weekly to deliver mandatory training, provide equipment and oversee operations, while continuing to develop your own skills and knowledge.

What you’ll do:

What you bring:

• Experience in a similar supervisory role within the service industry.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and manage resources effectively.
• Experience working to standards and compliance requirements, with a good knowledge of health and safety and COSHH.
• Ability to carry out manual handling tasks safely.
• Good communication, leadership and team management skills, with experience managing client relationships.
• Cleaning qualifications, IOSH, knowledge of quality standards, or experience in a military environment would be an advantage.
