Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor at The Long Eaton School, Nottinghamshire. The role involves supervising the cleaning team, implementing policies, and ensuring high hygiene standards across daily tasks and emergencies.

You will work 30 hours per week on two shifts, with early starts, contributing to a safe, clean school environment and representing Mitie and the school professionally.

• Experience in facilities cleaning management or supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the cleaning team in line with Mitie and school policies.
• Carry out cleaning tasks according to the work schedule.
• Interpret cleaning schedules on site and instruct staff in methods and materials.
• Attend to staff performance assessments and report deficiencies to Premises Manager.
• Manage replenishment of washroom dispensers and stock.
• Ensure risk assessments and COSHH data sheets are up to date and staff briefing is completed.
• Complete Back to Work Interviews and manage absence as per policy.
• Carry out and manage works in line with Health & Safety requirements.

To supervise the operational service delivery of the PFI contact

Key Elements of Role

• To contribute and supervise the cleaning team in the development of the school's ethos and culture, to support the school's core activities
• To be part of and to share the schools and Mitie's aims for the pupils and support and contribute to school policies in respect of equal opportunities, behaviour, and training.
• To constantly use his / her best endeavours to maintain the professional image of Mitie and the school and always maintain a harmonious working relationship.
• To supervise cleaning staff in line with the company's policies and procedures
• Carry out all cleaning tasks in accordance with the work schedule.
• Ensure all Cleaning staff carry out cleaning tasks in accordance with the work schedule.
• To interpret cleaning schedules on site & instruct staff in the correct methods, use of equipment & materials.
• Participate in assessments of cleaning staff performance and report any deficiencies to Premises Manager.
• Manage the replenishment of washroom dispensers.
• Ensure that all of Risk Assessments, Safe Method of Work Statements and COSHH data sheets and associated assessments are complete and up to date and that all staff are briefed.
• Complete Back to Work Interviews and manage absence in line with the companies Absence Management Policy.
• Review and conduct in house training using Toolbox Talk materials and if needed external support.
• Ensure staff time sheets are completed.
• Attend training courses as necessary (Team Leader Apprenticeship etc) and provide on the job training for cleaning team when required.
• To carry out and manage works in accordance with current legal Health & Safety requirements.
• To maintain a high level of personal hygiene and appearance.
• Wear protective clothing necessary for task to be completed.
• Observe site rules and regulations at all times.
• Report all machine, building faults, operational issues and Health & Safety Issues are reported to the Premises Manager.
• Respond courteously to customer requests.
• To act as one of the key holders, registered as such with the police and ensuring access to keys is given only to authorised people (Key Holding Company).
• To manage the cleaning of slippery floors, spillage's, bodily fluids, and other emergency cleaning.
• To carry out cleaning audits in-line with contract schedules.
• Monitor cleaning stock and carry out monthly stock take.
• Any other duties as requested by the Account Manager or supporting managers
