Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Peri Cleaner In Charge for 20 hours per week to supervise a school cleaning team across multiple sites in the city. You will manage cleaners on site, ensure materials and equipment availability, and assist with stock and service delivery. Full training will be provided.

The role requires a full clean driving licence and business use car insurance; mileage is reimbursed. DBS enhanced check is required for regulated activity. Closing date 22nd September 2026.

Salary: Starting Salary is £25,583 (Level one) rising yearly to £26,403 (Level three) - pro rata for part-time - per annum. (Pay award pending)

About the Role

The successful applicant will form an important part of our existing School Cleaning Team. As the Peri Cleaner In Charge, you will be responsible for the cleaning staff on site, ensuring that they have the materials and equipment they require on a day-to-day basis to enable them to carry out their duties to a high standard. You will be required to monitor the standards throughout the schools, give training and support to the cleaning staff, monitor attendance and organize any cover required in the school.

You will be responsible for monitoring and ordering stock ensuring we have the required levels to deliver the service. Communicate with on site staff ensuring exceptional service delivery, promoting the service we provide in a positive manner and working closely with the FM Team Leaders carrying out duties as required and instructed by the team leader.

We are requiring a Peri Cleaner in Charge post at 20 hours each, split shift, overtime required when needed, full clean driving licence, business use car insurance and the use of your own vehicle will be required for this role. Mileage will be reimbursed at £0.45 per mile from designated point.

Maybe required to work in the morning between 06:00 - 10:00am and in the evening between 3:00 - 7:00pm. These times will vary depending on business needs.

Full training will be provided to enable you to carry out your role.
