Job summary

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to join our team in a full-time permanent role, 37.5 hours per week. The shift pattern is Monday - Friday - 07:00 - 15:00 with occasional weekends to cover annual leave/sickness if needed. Flexibility is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of cleaning staff to deliver high site standards.
• Plan and coordinate staff rotas to ensure continuity of service.
• Support recruitment, induction and ongoing development.
• Monitor cleaning standards and ensure health & safety compliance.
• Manage stock, equipment and supplies; order and control stock.
• Report maintenance issues, damages or hazards.
• Support training and ensure adherence to required standards.

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is looking to recruit a Cleaning Supervisor to join our team in this full time permanent role, 37.5 hours per week.

Set in attractive grounds in a rural setting, on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is a purpose-built building with good links to the local community. We offer acute mental health support for adult males, as well as psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) support for adult males.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising a team of cleaning staff to deliver high standards across the site
• Planning and coordinating staff rotas to ensure continuity of service
• Supporting recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of team members
• Monitoring cleaning standards and ensuring compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations
• Managing stock, equipment, and supplies, including ordering and stock control
• Reporting maintenance issues, damage, or hazards
• Supporting training and ensuring team compliance with required standards

What you'll bring to the role

• Good standard of English, with basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Previous experience in a cleaning role, ideally within a healthcare or similar environment
• Experience within a hospital/hotel environment together with some supervisory experience
• Good understanding of health & safety, COSHH, and cleaning standards
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team positively
• Reliable, organised, and able to manage workloads effectively
• Good attention to detail
