Job summary

Exhall Grange Specialist School in Coventry is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to lead a team of 8 cleaners and uphold high standards of cleanliness across the premises. The role runs Monday to Friday, 15.00–20.00 (25 hours per week) during term-time, with an additional 10 days per year during holidays.

The actual salary is £15,440 per annum for 25 hours per week and 40 weeks per year. LGPS, Employee Assistance Programme, Cycle to Work and Vivup benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy to read and follow instructions accurately.
• Able to supervise and demonstrate to staff.
• Previous cleaning experience.
• Able to operate equipment and read labels.

• Willing to undertake necessary training for the role.

Responsibilities

• Managing staff: training new cleaners, supervising existing staff and managing the rota to cover short term absences.
• Safety: ensuring the team follow health, safety and COSHH regulations.
• Supplies: inventory and ordering of cleaning products and equipment maintenance.
• Quality checks: checking overall standards and maintaining quality throughout the team.

About the Job:
We are seeking to appoint a Cleaning Supervisor to lead and manage our dedicated team of 8 cleaners who are responsible for maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our school premises.
Key responsibilities:

• Managing Staff: including training new cleaners, supervising existing staff and managing the rota to cover short term absences
• Safety: ensuring the team follow health, safety and COSHH regulations
• Supplies: inventory and ordering of cleaning products and equipment maintenance
• Quality checks: checking overall standards and maintaining quality throughout the team

Your working hours will be undertaken Monday to Friday 15.00 - 20.00 hours (25 hours per week) during term-time and your contract will include working an additional 10 days per year during the holiday periods. These holiday days are set in advance and can be undertaken during the hours of 07.00 am until 15.30 pm.
The actual salary for this role is £15,440 per annum for 25 hours per week and 40 weeks per year (term time plus 10 days).

There are no formal qualifications required for this role, however there is an expectation that you will:

• have basic literacy and numeracy skills to be able to read and follow instructions accurately
• be able to supervise and demonstrate to staff
• have previous cleaning experience
• be able to operate equipment and use materials
• understand and be able to work to procedures, follow straightforward instructions and read labels
• understand and operate within regulations, including COSHH regulations
• be able to communicate with colleagues and other staff members
• be prepared to undertake necessary training required for this role.
