Bournemouth & Poole College is seeking Cleaning Operatives to join our Estates Team and maintain a clean, welcoming environment across all campus sites. This full-time role covers a 37.5-hour week and includes evening shifts to support our busy campus operations.

Qualifikationen

The Role

Cleaning Operatives are responsible for creating a clean and welcoming environment for all campus users and visitors.

What You'll Be Doing

Working as part of the Estates Team, you’ll contribute to a supportive and inclusive workplace that values respect, equality, and a shared passion for excellence. This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness using sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering a “best in class” cleaning service across the College estate
• Following company procedures, including all health and safety requirements
• Cleaning a variety of areas including classrooms, offices, corridors, kitchens, toilets, and washrooms
• Carrying out waste removal and maintaining hygiene standards throughout
• Completing weekly deep cleans of designated areas
• Operating cleaning machinery such as carpet cleaners and hard floor equipment
• Ensuring all cleaning equipment is maintained in a clean and hygienic condition
• Working to a structured daily cleaning schedule and supporting wider team tasks as required

About You

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a cleaning role (experience in an education setting is desirable)
• Good knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemical use
• Understanding of health and safety practices
• A proactive, “can-do” attitude with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, adaptable, and committed to high standards
• Willingness to work evenings
• GCSEs (or equivalent) and/or relevant cleaning training are desirable
