Job summary

Bournemouth & Poole College is seeking Cleaning Operatives to join our Estates Team and maintain a clean, welcoming environment across all campus sites. This full-time role covers a 37.5-hour week and includes evening shifts to support our busy campus operations.

You will follow health and safety guidelines, use sustainable cleaning practices and contribute to a collaborative, respectful workplace. The college values high standards and reliability in its facilities team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a cleaning role.
• Good knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and chemical use.
• Understanding of health and safety practices.
• Willingness to work evenings.
• GCSEs or equivalent desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a best in class cleaning service across the College estate.
• Follow company procedures, including all health and safety requirements.
• Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, kitchens, toilets and washrooms.
• Carry out waste removal and maintain hygiene standards throughout.
• Complete weekly deep cleans of designated areas.
• Operate cleaning machinery such as carpet cleaners and hard floor equipment.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.
• Work to a structured daily cleaning schedule and support wider team tasks.
