Job summary

The Housing Network in Leicester is seeking an experienced Cleaning Operative to join our team. You will maintain cleanliness across properties, ensuring rapid turnaround times and high standards to support residents and our mission.

We offer a full-time schedule, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £28,000 per annum and benefits including 23 days' annual leave. You will work under our Housing Network/ YMCA partnership, helping vulnerable communities.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional cleaning and home/ tenancy cleaning environments.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good understanding of cleaning tools and equipment.
• Commitment to high cleaning standards.

Responsibilities

• Return properties to a high standard of cleanliness within tight turnaround times.
• Carry out scheduled void-property cleaning to meet contract targets.
• Clean rooms and communal areas to high standards.
• Prepare void rooms for new residents and dispose of rubbish properly.
• Ensure kitchens and laundry areas are hazard-free and hygienic.
• Report repairs and follow COSHH and company policies.

Are you an experienced Cleaning Operative, looking to join at an exciting time of growth and be part of an organisation that makes a difference?

What you'll be doing:

• Ensuring that properties are returned to a high standard of cleanliness with tight turnaround times
• Carry out scheduled work on void properties to bring back up to a high standard and in accordance with the Council's targets prescribed in the contract
• Cleaning of rooms/communal areas as directed, ensuring that all rooms/communal areas are maintained to a high quality standard
• Cleaning void rooms to prepare them for new residents.
• Remove rubbish and dispose of correctly.
• Check kitchen and laundry room appliances are clean and free from hazards and common part areas are free from hazards and are clean as directed regularly
• Ensure that the communal areas are hygienic and well maintained.
• Report any repairs to the maintenance office team.
• Carry out sharps sweeps
• Follow all COSHH and company polices

About you:

• Experienced working independently, as well as part of a team
• Have a passion for what The Housing Network does and representing that
• Experienced in professional cleaning, ideally including end of tenancy or deep-cleaning environments
• A good level of understanding cleaning tools, and equipment
