Job summary

St. Mary’s Menston, a Catholic Voluntary Academy, is recruiting two cleaners to join a supportive team. The roles are permanent, 15 hours per week, term time only plus 10 additional days, with work 3 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Friday.

The post involves cleaning designated areas to a high standard, with protective clothing provided and DBS checks likely required. Salary is on the NJC Scale, £25,614 per annum full-time equivalent, with actual salary of £9,110 per annum for the part-time hours.

The Academy Council of this high achieving and oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy is looking to appoint two self-motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic cleaners to join their supportive and positive team.

The postholders will be responsible for cleaning designated areas within the school to ensure they are maintained to a clean and hygienic standard. Protective clothing will be provided.

The post holders will:

• Have a positive and flexible approach, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate high personal standards and expectations.
• Be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleaning throughout the school during term time, ensuring the cleanliness of a designated area.
• Carry out cleaning duties to a consistent standard, including wiping, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning toilets.
• Comply with all Health and Safety requirements at all times, including the safe use and storage of cleaning materials in accordance with risk assessments.

The post includes a substantial amount of lifting, bending and stretching.
