DN Colleges Group in Scunthorpe is seeking a reliable Cleaner to provide a professional cleaning service across campus facilities. The role covers classrooms, offices and public areas, maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

Working within the Facilities Cleaning Services team, you will operate cleaning equipment and follow safe working practices. This is a permanent post for 16 hours per week with a morning pattern; DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cleaning role within a similar working environment.
• Ability to read and follow instructions relevant to the role.
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Good communication skills.
• Excellent timekeeping and a methodical approach; work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, public areas and sanitary facilities to a high standard.
• Clean the fabric of buildings, including fixtures, furniture and floor coverings.
• Move chairs, desks and other furniture as required to support cleaning activities.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as buffers and scrubbers safely and effectively.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and consumables are used safely and stored correctly.
• Carry out routine maintenance checks on cleaning equipment.
• Report defects, maintenance issues or concerns to the Estates Helpdesk.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.

Role Summary

We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Cleaner to provide a professional cleaning service across our campus facilities. This role is essential in ensuring that classrooms, offices and public areas are maintained to a high standard, creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

The vacancy

Working as part of the Facilities Cleaning Services team, you will undertake a range of cleaning duties, operate cleaning equipment and support the upkeep of college facilities while following safe working practices at all times.

Actual Salary: £10,928.68 per annum

Working Pattern: 16 hours per week Monday - Thursday 6am - 9:15am Friday 6am - 9am

Key Responsibilities

Important Things to Note

In DN Colleges we call this role Cleaner but you might know this as Cleaning Operative, Facilities Cleaner, Domestic Assistant, Housekeeping Assistant or Site Cleaner.

We are not looking for agency support for this role.

This is a permanent position subject to a satisfactory probationary period.

The role is for 16 hours per week and applications from candidates seeking flexible or job share arrangements are welcome.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
