Job summary

Lighthorne Heath Primary School is hiring a cleaner to join the site team, ensuring a clean, healthy and safe environment for children, staff and visitors. Training will be provided; prior school cleaning experience is desirable.

The role is 9 hours per week term-time only plus two weeks holiday cleaning, with hours: Mon-Thu 3.30pm–5.30pm and Fri 3.30pm–4.30pm; 18 hours during school holidays. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cleaner in a school or education setting is desirable but training will be provided.
• Must be reliable, punctual with good attendance and a hard‑working team player.
• Must observe safe working practices and complete safeguarding and health & safety training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular and one-off cleaning tasks as directed by the Site Manager or Supervisor.
• Work safely using warning signs, products and PPE.
• Report health and safety issues to the Caretaker.

About Us & The Role

We are looking to appoint a cleaner to join our small site team, who work together to maintain a clean, healthy and safe environment for our children, staff and visitors. Previous experience of working as a cleaner in a school or education setting would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

The post is for 9 hours per week term time only plus two weeks holiday cleaning. During term time, you will Monday to Thursday 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm and Fridays 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. There is also the requirement for you to work 18 hours during the school holidays.

Duties will include

• Carrying out regular and one-off cleaning tasks as directed by the Site Manager or Supervisor
• Working safely using correct warning signs, products and PPE
• Reporting health and safety issues to the Caretaker
