Job summary

The Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers (Usdaw) has a vacancy for a Cleaner at its Croydon office, Unit 6, 17 Whitestone Way, Croydon, CR0 4WF. The role focuses on maintaining a hygienic environment and requires prior cleaning experience.

You will receive an hourly rate of £16.05 plus pro rata Outer London Weighting of £948 and a generous holiday entitlement with 24 days rising to 32 plus bank and customary holidays.

Principal duties are:

to provide a cleaning service, ensuring that the building remains clean and hygienic.

The successful applicant will possess:

previous cleaning experience in a similar environment; knowledge of COSHH and PPE Regulations and of safe working practices; the ability to demonstrate initiative, judgement and take appropriate action to respond to daily cleaning requests; the ability to communicate effectively; well-developed planning and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work in order to meet deadlines; the ability to respond to change, be adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of the job and the Union.
