Job summary

Cromwell Community College in Chatteris is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join the site team. You will help maintain safe, welcoming spaces across classrooms and shared areas, supporting daily life in a busy school environment.

The role is part-time (12.5 hours/week) during term-time plus training days and 30 additional hours in closure periods, with a pattern of Monday to Friday 15:30–18:00. Salary is ALT Grade B (£7,805.90–£7,866.40 annually) on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning duties across the academy, including classrooms, toilets and communal areas, maintaining high standards throughout.
• Prepare rooms and workspaces for teaching, meetings and other activities.
• Restock cleaning supplies and report low stock or equipment faults promptly.
• Follow health and safety procedures, reporting hazards and ensuring safe use and storage of cleaning materials.
• Work collaboratively with the site team, completing tasks within agreed timescales and maintaining a safe, secure environment.

This is a permanent position offered on a part-time basis, working during school term-time and the 5 staff training days throughout the academic year. The post holder's will also be required to work 30 additional hours throughout school closure periods, as determined by line manager.
