Job summary

University of the West of Scotland is seeking a part-time Cleaner to join the Estates & Campus Services team at Paisley Campus. The role involves daytime cleaning to maintain a clean, safe and hygienic campus environment, with a fixed schedule: Monday 7:00-10:00 and Tue-Fri 6:00-9:00.

You will work in a friendly team, with training on health and safety provided, and you will support high standards of service for staff and students.

Qualifications

• Experience working within an Industrial/Commercial cleaning environment is essential.
• Basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements; further training will be provided.
• Ability to demonstrate working in a customer focused role with an emphasis on quality service.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English; suitable for training requirements.
• Ability to work in a team and on your own.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the daytime programme of cleaning to ensure campus facilities are clean, safe and hygienic.
• Work alongside the Estates & Campus Services team to deliver high standards of service.
• Contribute to a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.

Part‑Time: 15 hours per week

Hours of duty are as follows:

• Monday 07.00-10.00am and Tues to Fri 06.00-09.00am

Unfortunately, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship in line with Home Office requirements. Applicants will therefore be unable to secure a Skilled Worker visa for this role and will require an alternative source of right to work in the UK.

Working within the Campus Services directorate based at the University of the West of Scotland's Paisley Campus you will work alongside a friendly and supportive team and will participate in the day‑time programme of cleaning services to ensure that the campus facilities are maintained in a clean, safe and hygienic condition.

The successful candidate should have the following:

• Experience working within an Industrial/Commercial cleaning environment is essential
• You must possess a basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a workplace; further training will be provided.
• Ability to demonstrate working in a customer focused role with an emphasis on providing quality service
• Demonstrate good customer service skills. Proficient in both written and spoken English - sufficient to meeting the communication and training requirements for the role.
• Ability to work in a team and on your own.

A degree of flexibility is also required to meet the needs of the business.
