Job summary

The University of the West of Scotland's Paisley Campus is seeking a part‑time cleaner to join the Estates & Campus Services team. You will help maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment across the campus.

This 16 hours per week role runs Monday to Thursday 12:45–16:00 and Friday 13:00–16:00. Applicants should have experience in industrial/commercial cleaning, basic health and safety awareness, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial/commercial cleaning essential.
• Basic health and safety understanding; training provided.
• Demonstrate customer-focused service delivery.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work in a team and on your own.
• Flexibility to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

Part‑Time: 16 hours per week

Hours of duty are as follows:

Monday to Thursday 1245pm-1600pm and Friday 1300pm-1600pm

Unfortunately, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship in line with Home Office requirements. Applicants will therefore be unable to secure a Skilled Worker visa for this role and will require an alternative source of right to work in the UK.

Working within the Campus Services directorate based at the University of the West of Scotland's Paisley Campus you will work alongside a friendly and supportive team and will participate in the day‑to‑day programme of cleaning services to ensure that the campus facilities are maintained in a clean, safe and hygienic condition.

The successful candidate should have the following:

• Experience working within an Industrial/Commercial cleaning environment is essential
• You must possess a basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a workplace; further training will be provided.
• Ability to demonstrate working in a customer focused role with an emphasis on providing quality service
• Demonstrate good customer service skills. Proficient in both written and spoken English - sufficient to meeting the communication and training requirements for the role.
• Ability to work in a team and on your own.

A degree of flexibility is also required to meet the needs of the business.
