Job summary

The University of the West of Scotland is seeking an Admissions Co-ordinator to join the Admissions team. You will process applications from Scottish, Rest of UK and international applicants across all levels and modes of study, assessing against entry requirements and providing a positive applicant experience.

Qualifications

  • HND / BTEC National Diploma / Diploma in Higher Education or equivalent in a Customer Service or Business Administration subject.
  • Experience of administration in a busy and fast paced environment.
  • Good customer care experience and ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Experience of problem solving and contributing to developing and implementing business processes using own initiative.
  • Familiarity with UK, EU and Non-EU academic qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Process applications from Scottish, Rest of UK and international applicants across all levels and modes of study.
  • Assess applications against programme entry requirements to ensure decisions are fair, accurate and timely.
  • Provide expert advice on admissions procedures, entry requirements, various national and international qualifications, fee status and UCAS processes.
  • Work strictly to the UCAS admissions cycle, using specialist resources to inform decision-making, and contribute to enrolment of new students.

Admissions Co-ordinator

As part of the Admissions team, you will play a key role in processing applications from Scottish, Rest of UK and international applicants across all levels and modes of study. You will assess applications against programme entry requirements, ensuring decisions are made fairly, accurately and within agreed timescales to provide an excellent applicant experience and support the University's recruitment objectives.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across Faculties and professional services, you will provide expert advice on admissions procedures, entry requirements, various national and international qualifications, fee status, and UCAS processes. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong customer service skills and the ability to manage a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy. You will work strictly to the UCAS admissions cycle, using a range of specialist resources to inform decision-making, and contribute to the successful enrolment of new students.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • HND / BTEC National Diploma / Diploma in Higher Education / equivalent level of qualification in a Customer Service or Business Administration subject, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Experience of administration within a busy and fast paced environment.
  • Good customer care experience.
  • Experience of dealing with conflicting priorities.
  • Experience of problem solving.
  • Experience of contributing to developing and implementing business processes using own initiative.
  • Familiarity with UK, EU and Non-EU academic qualifications.
