Role Description/Criteria

Selection Criteria

Applicants are invited to respond to the following six selection criteria. Responses should demonstrate knowledge, skills and experience and provide specific examples of professional practice wherever possible.

1. Catholic Identity and Education in Faith

Demonstrate a commitment to the Catholic Purpose, Vision & Mission of Sacred Heart Primary School. This includes contributing to the Catholic traditions, sacramental and prayer life of the school and integrating Catholic values and perspectives into learning, relationships and daily school life.

2. Excellence in Learning and Teaching

Demonstrate the capacity to plan and deliver high-quality, student-centred and outcomes-focused learning that promotes growth and achievement for every student. This includes strong curriculum knowledge, effective pedagogy, high expectations, differentiated learning and an understanding of explicit instruction and the science of learning.

3. Assessment, Data and Responsive Teaching

Demonstrate the ability to use assessment and evidence of student learning to monitor progress, provide meaningful feedback and inform teaching and learning. This includes the effective use of assessment data, moderation and professional dialogue to identify student needs, adjust teaching and communicate learning progress with students and families.

4. Student Wellbeing, Inclusion and Child Safety

Demonstrate a strong commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion and child safety and the capacity to create a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment. This includes building positive relationships with students, responding to diverse learning needs and working collaboratively with colleagues, families and relevant professionals to support student wellbeing and learning.

5. Collaboration and Partnerships

Demonstrate the capacity to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues, families and the wider school community to enhance student learning, wellbeing and engagement. This includes contributing positively to team planning and professional dialogue, establishing trusting relationships with parents/carers and actively participating in the broader life of the school.

6. Professional Growth and Commitment to School Improvement

Demonstrate a commitment to professional learning, reflective practice and continuous improvement, and the capacity to contribute positively to the strategic direction and priorities of Sacred Heart Primary School. In addition, successful applicants will be expected:

• To demonstrate a commitment to the Sacred Heart Primary School Child Safe Policy & the Staff Code of Conduct
• Hold registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
• Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic Primary School is strongly preferred; a commitment to obtain accreditation may be considered

Salary is in accordance with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement and available on the website www.cecv.catholic.edu.au.
