Job summary

Hazel Tree Education in Wigan is seeking a Classroom Support Worker to assist pupils with SEMH needs. You will join an experienced team supporting academic, social and emotional development in an Alternative Provision Primary School.

The role is full-time (Mon-Fri, 8.40am–3.30pm) and temporary, with potential for long-term continuity for the right candidate. An Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one is required, plus two references and right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

  • A recognised qualification in Teaching and Learning or Childcare or experience working with children in a formal setting (e.g., school, residential, sports coaching).
  • Experience in supporting children with additional needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain one.
  • Two references including most recent/current employer.
  • Right to work in the UK.

  • Support students with SEMH needs and assist with academic and social development.
  • Work with an experienced team to meet each child’s needs.

Job description

Hazel Tree Education are seeking a passionate and supportive Classroom Support Worker to work in an Alternative Provision Primary School in Wigan.

The role will primarily be supporting students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will be working alongside an experienced team that works hard to meet the academic and social, emotional and mental health needs of each child.

Hours- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.40am – 3.30pm.

This is a temporary position although could span long-term for the right candidate.

What we’re looking for:

A recognised qualification in Teaching and Learning or Childcare or experience working with children in a formal setting e.g school, residential, sports coaching.

Experience in supporting children with additional needs, as well as supporting challenging behaviours.

A resilient, pro-active nature with a positive, can-do attitude.

Successful candidates must have:

An Enhanced DBS on the Update service or be willing to obtain one

At least two references including most recent/current employer.

Right to work in the UK.

A good standard of literacy and numeracy with excellent written and verbal communication.
