Are you an experienced and resilient Teaching Assistant who thrives in a challenging but rewarding environment? A Primary Alternative Provision in Walsall is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young learners who need guidance, consistency, and patience to succeed.
You will be working closely with children who have been excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream education. Your role will include 1-2-1 and small group support, helping pupils to regulate their emotions, re-engage with learning, and develop positive behaviour strategies. Experience supporting children with SEMH needs is essential, along with a calm and empathetic approach. Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor or Residential support worker is required for this role.
