Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking a Classroom Support Assistant in Cannock. You will work across partner schools to support pupils’ academic progress, behaviour and wellbeing, with duties including lesson setup and small-group help.

Ideal for graduates or career changers; starting immediately. DBS and right to work in the UK are required or in process, with competitive PAYE weekly pay and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, or similar setting.
• Relevant qualification (Level 2/3) or degree in education/related field preferred.
• Confidence supporting pupils one-to-one or in small groups.
• Ability to assist with general classroom tasks, lesson prep, and behaviour management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; reliable and adaptable.
• Current DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.

Partner schools support pupils across all key stages and pride themselves on creating welcoming, inclusive, and nurturing environments. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to support pupils’ academic progress, behaviour, and well-being- ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

What You’ll Need

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, or similar educational setting (voluntary or paid)
• Relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning) or degree in education/related field (preferred but not essential)
• Confidence supporting pupils in the classroom, one-to-one or in small groups
• Ability to assist with general classroom tasks, lesson preparation, and behaviour management
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships
• Reliable, flexible, and adaptable to different classroom environments
• Current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through Connex Education
• Proof of right to work in the UK (required to apply)
