Job summary

Bury Teaching Personnel are seeking a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN School and College in Bury, supporting learners aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs.

This full-time role involves providing 1:1 and small‑group support, building positive relationships, assisting with personal care when required, and applying positive behaviour strategies to help learners develop independence and life skills.

Teaching Personnel are seeking a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN School and College in Bury, supporting learners aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs.

This rewarding full-time role involves working closely with students across both secondary and post-16 provisions, helping them achieve their academic goals, develop independence, and build confidence in everyday life. The role may include providing personal care and supporting learners who can display challenging behaviours, so a calm, patient, and resilient approach is essential.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support throughout the school and college day
  • Build positive relationships that promote trust, engagement, and achievement
  • Support learners with a variety of complex needs across different pathways
  • Assist with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
