Job summary

Berry Recruitment are seeking a Class 2 Refuse Driver to join a local authority at the Hedge End depot. The role is ongoing, Monday to Friday, 6am to 1.30pm, with an hourly rate of £14.30 rising to £15.44 after 12 weeks.

You must hold Digi Tachograph and CPC licences and be available to start ASAP. Duties include driving with loaders, loading assistance, collecting household waste and recycling, customer service, and health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have Digi Tachograph and CPC licences.
• Class 2 licence required for driving refuse vehicle.
• Available to start ASAP for ongoing assignment.
• Training provided may lead to permanent placement.

Responsibilities

• Drive the refuse collection vehicle around Eastleigh and surrounding areas with loaders.
• Assist with loading when required.
• Collect household waste, recycling and special collections.
• Provide strong customer service when interacting with residents.
• Adhere to health and safety policies at all times.

Class 2 Refuse Driver (RAC/EA/2DR1) Hedge End, England

Salary: GBP14.3 - GBP15.44 per hour

Berry Recruitment are looking for Class 2 Refuse Drivers to start ASAP for a local authority based at the Hedge End depot.

This is an ongoing role, working Monday to Friday 6am - 1.30pm and an hourly pay rate of £14.30 (this will increase to £15.44 after 12 weeks)

This may lead to permanent for the right candidate.

You will need to be available to start ASAP and must have the correct licenses including Digi Tachograph and CPC.

Main Duties:

• Driving the vehicle around Eastleigh and surrounding areas with a team of refuse loaders
• Sometimes assisting with loading
• Collect household waste, recycling and special collections
• Customer facing so good customer service is needed
• Adhere to health and safety at all times

Previous rear steer experience is desired!

Previous experience of the waste industry and of waste collection is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
