Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting Class 2 HGV Drivers for an established food distribution client in Nursling. This temp-to-perm role offers ongoing work with a path to permanent employment.

Shifts start early between 01:00 and 02:00, average 8–10 hours, on a 28-week rolling rota (4 days on, 2 off). Pay is £18.50–£20.50 per hour with overtime on weekends/bank holidays.

• Must have Class 2 driving experience and good communication skills.
• Flexibility with finish times and shifts is required.
• Reliable and professional attitude expected at all times.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bread to customers in the SO area.
• Offload using tail lift into delivery area.
• Carry out vehicle checks before and after shifts.

Job description

The Best Connection is currently recruiting Class 2 HGV Drivers for an established food distribution client based in Nursling. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering ongoing work with the potential to secure a permanent position.

Salary - £18.50 / £20.50 per hour

Location - Nursling, Southampton

Details of the role:

• Working on a temp to perm contract, Subject to passing trail period you will become a permanent member of staff
• The shifts are early AM start between 01:00am-02:00am, average working shift is 8-10 hrs
• This role is working on a 28-week rolling rota, working 4 days on and 2 days off
• Paying between £18.50-£20.50 per hour with an 8 hour minimum shift
• Overtime paid on weekends and bank holidays
• You will be delivering Bread to a variety of customers around the SO area
• All products are stacked in cages and offloaded via tail lift into the supermarket delivery area
• New passes welcome, with 3-6 months class 2 commercial driving experience
• Drivers must have good communication skills and be willing be to be flexible with finish times
• Vehicle checks before and after each shift
• Full Cat C Licence
• Valid CPC & Digi Card
• Class 2 experience driving rigid vehicles
• On-site parking
• Reliable and professional attitude
