Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver for a Monday to Friday role in the United Kingdom. You will start at 7:30 am with a pay rate of £14.50–£15.00 per hour, depending on experience, and join a safety‑conscious team focused on reliable, timely deliveries.

The role requires arranging deliveries and collections, maintaining accurate documentation, and complying with WTD rules while delivering outstanding customer service across customer sites.

Qualifications

HGV Class 2 Driver

Monday to Friday | £14.50-£15.00 per hour

Are you an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver looking for a Monday-to-Friday role with competitive hourly pay?

We're looking for a reliable, professional and hardworking HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. If you take pride in your work, put safety first and enjoy providing excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

• Working days: Monday to Friday


• Start time: 7:30 am


• Finish time: Variable, depending on daily requirements


• Pay rate: £14.50-£15.00 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out deliveries and collections safely and efficiently at customer premises, in line with current legislation and best practice.


• Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.


• Completing daily vehicle, trailer and equipment checks, ensuring all relevant documentation and procedures are followed.


• Ensuring loads are safe, secure and free from damage, using the correct restraints and following company procedures and Safe Systems of Work.


• Accurately completing, checking, retaining and handing over delivery paperwork, load documentation and proof of delivery (POD) documents.


• Following all company policies, procedures and operational requirements.


• Complying with applicable drivers' hours, tachograph and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations, including GB domestic rules where appropriate.


• Adhering to health and safety requirements and customer site rules while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and housekeeping.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.


• At least two years' HGV Class 2 driving experience.


• A valid and up-to-date Driver CPC qualification.


• A good understanding of drivers' hours, tachograph regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.


• A good knowledge of the UK road network.


• A reliable, punctual and self-motivated attitude.


• A strong work ethic and a professional approach to customer service.


• A commitment to safe driving, load security and legal compliance.

Experience using smartphone apps or digital delivery systems would be an advantage, but it is not essential, as full training will be provided.
