Job summary

Driver Hire Winchester is recruiting for an experienced Class 2 driver on behalf of a leading general haulage company. You will operate 18T/26T curtain-side vehicles, deliver palletised freight nationwide, and ensure loads are secured for safe transport.

The role requires a UK Class 2 licence, CPC/Digi Tacho, and at least two years’ experience. In Eastleigh, it offers weekly pay, sign-up bonuses, and good benefits for reliable professionals.

Class 2 HGV Driver – General Haulage

Driver Hire Winchester is recruiting for an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) Driver on behalf of a leading general haulage company. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a professional and established operation, delivering palletised freight to commercial customers across the UK.

The Role

• Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays on a rota
• 7:15am start time
• Long-distance deliveries across the UK
• Delivering palletised freight to commercial customers
• Using a pump truck to unload pallets, with some sites providing forklift unloading
• Driving 18T or 26T curtain-side vehicles with tail lifts
• Strapping and securing loads safely
• Completing daily vehicle checks and required paperwork
• Working professionally and safely at all times

What We're Looking For

We're looking for reliable, professional drivers who take pride in their work and have:

• Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid CPC and Digi Tacho Card
• Minimum 2 years' Class 2 driving experience
• Experience securing and strapping loads
• Previous experience driving 18T or 26T curtain-side tail-lift vehicles
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and health & safety regulations
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and professionally
