Job summary

Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting an experienced Class 2 Driver for a general haulage role delivering palletised freight to commercial customers across the UK. The position includes long-distance runs, daily vehicle checks, and paperwork completion.

Requirements include a full UK Class 2 licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph card, and at least 2 years of Class 2 driving experience with curtain-side tail-lift vehicles. Weekly pay and training opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

• Use of curtain-side tail-lift vehicles (18t or 26t).

About this Class 2 position:

• Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays on a rota basis
• Long-distance deliveries throughout the UK
• Delivering palletised freight to commercial customers
• Use of a pump truck for unloading pallets (some sites may unload via forklift)
• Completing daily vehicle checks and accurately maintaining all paperwork

Requirements from you as a Class 2 Driver:

• Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• Minimum of 2 years’ Class 2 driving experience
• Experience driving 18-tonne or 26-tonne curtain-side tail-lift vehicles
• Good understanding of drivers’ hours and health & safety regulations
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
• Reliable, professional, and safety-focused approach
